Snake Boxing & Inner Fire Qigong

Snake Boxing

Snake Twisting

Snake Boxing is an external martial art system practiced exclusively by the Li family with the main focus on fighting while kneeling, sitting, rolling or lying on the ground. The Snake Boxer, through tumbling, rolling, leaping and coiling, controls the balance of his opponent in order to strike or lock vulnerable pressure points with devastating effectiveness.

Snake Toss

Snake Boxing does not make use of submission holds like other ground fighting methods. It prefers to attack and disable the opponent through breaking joints, disabling muscles and tendons or paralyzing with knockout blows to pressure points.

Ground Tiger

This method was reputedly created in Tibet over four hundred years ago by a monk who later taught the method to Lama Zurdwang, instructor to the Chinese martial arts masters of the Li family. Regardless of its origin, this unusual method of ground fighting proved highly effective for their work as professional bodyguards in China.

Snake Pounces

Snake Boxing is a highly energetic combat method that requires a fair degree of flexibility and stamina to perfect. You will build your aerobic endurance as well as strength in the legs and back. Snake Boxers learn; falling and rolling, kneeling, sitting and lying combat methods, "iron palm" training, nerve strikes and "light body" jumping skills, throws, locks and grappling methods to round out their training. An ideal skill to learn for those dangerous moments should you fall, be thrown or find yourself in a sitting or reclining position.

Tumo/Dumo - Inner Fire Qigong

This Program is only offered in the Winter.

Dumo is a Tibetan meditation method, one of the six doctrines of Naropa - an Indian Yogi who settled in Tibet. This method was designed to purify the body and liberate the mind with the ultimate goal of enlightenment. One of the testing methods involves the withstanding of extremely cold temperatures. This traditional Tibetan Dumo requires months or even years of rigorous training that is dangerous unless undertaken with the direct guidance of a master.

Dr. Painter explains the traditional Tibetan methods and gives a modern scientific explanation for this practice. You will then be taught short, safe, Daoist version designed for regulating body heat as Dr. Painter wishes you to directly experience your "Inner Fire" in addition to learning the intellectial concepts.

You will learn how through the regulation of the rhythm of the breath, concentration on the navel center (chakra), and visualization of certain mantric syllables it is possible to raise body temperature at will to such a point that external cold temperatures have little affect.
